The cover of our Jan/Feb issue certainly fired up interest. We’ve had hundreds of Members ring up and ask “what’s the car?” I can reveal it’s a Honda Integra Type S Mugen concept car that appeared at the Australian International (Sydney) Motor Show last year. As Australia’s Best Cars has 12 winners and no overall winner, we can’t feature just one winner on the cover – so we thought we’d use a car that provided a bit of intrigue, and we weren’t disappointed!Needra D

Now let me ask you a question – are you registered as an organ donor? If your answer is yes, is that because you’ve marked ‘yes’ on your drivers licence? If so, you need to know that that doesn’t automatically make you an organ donor. Your family can override your wishes, and this is what often happens when organ donation is discussed when a family is confronted with the decision in a moment of grief. In our article on page 26, we point out how necessary it is to register on the Australian Organ Donor Registry. It’s currently the only way to make sure that you become an organ donor and possibly help save up to 10 lives.

Our Meet a Member for this issue is Romaine, a 22-year-old mechanic. You might ask why a mechanic is an NRMA Member – certainly it’s the first thing we asked! She says it’s for all the services you get – the discounts, offers and benefits she receives as a Member. I’m thinking she gets a lot of use out of her NRMA discount at Lawrence Dry Cleaning.

Thinking of buying a used car and not sure where to start? Don’t miss our comprehensive 10-step guide on how to avoid buying a dud. And for those of you looking to sell your pride and joy, watch out for our sellers guide in the May/June issue.

Finally, NRMA has recently launched a ‘virtual’ newsletter. Distributed weekly, it includes motoring news, expert advice, competitions and travel ideas, from short breaks to overseas jaunts. And if you’re not interested in the whole newsletter, you can opt to view only the information that appeals to you. To subscribe visit www.mynrma.com.au/newsletter.
