CEO catch-up

CEO Tony StuartIt’s been a big summer at NRMA

NRMA is helping Members in more ways than ever before - and we have a few amazing success stories to prove it.

On Australia Day, NRMA Motorfest 2008 attracted 400,000 people. For the first time, we showcased an electronic stability control simulator aimed at preventing crashes by helping drivers maintain control of their vehicles in difficult circumstances.

We also displayed a replica of the famous Bathurst Mount Panorama racing circuit - a favourite on the day - along with a display of our legendary roadside services.

This summer, more than 2500 Members have booked in to NRMA Holiday Parks saving a collective $50,000-plus on their family holidays.

And nearly 25,000 Members have purchased attraction tickets from us, saving nearly half a million dollars between them.

One thousand Members have booked on our escorted tours since our first Vietnam tour in August 2007. We now operate 24 different world tours designed specifically for Members to make sure they have the best possible holiday (visit our website).

We’ve taught Members to Tango in Buenos Aires, Waltz in Vienna and how to pull the perfect pint of Guinness in Dublin.

We even had a Member travel with us in February to visit his uncle’s grave at the War Cemetery on Labuan Island, Borneo.

Our first exclusive Member tour with Coral Seas to Norfolk Island has been a great success with all three departures sold out within weeks.

More departures are being arranged.

Our international reservations team at Adventure World has been taking up to 100 calls a day. We have 100 people travelling on our Africa tours this year and we are tailoring special holidays for Members every day.

Helping our Members travel has always been a key part of what we do. Whether it’s getting you back on the road or offering discounts at a range of hotels, we have always been there to help.

New Zealand has become one of our favourite holiday destinations with more than a million Australians venturing across the Tasman each year.

NRMA Members can now enjoy special benefits and discounts due to our recent investments in Thrifty New Zealand, the Novotel Hotel Palmerston North (to be rebranded as Travelodge) and Adventure World New Zealand.

Our $20 million investment in New Zealand follows successful local investments in Travelodge Hotels, NRMA Holiday Parks, Thrifty Australia and Adventure World Australia.

Now NRMA Insurance has joined our campaign to offer more to Members with additional discounts as part of their Multipolicy arrangements. Members can find details of the savings available to them in the Discounts and Benefits section of mynrma.com.au.
